A political analyst, Jackson Ude, who disclosed this on his Twitter page @jacksonpbf, also alleged that Magu confessed to transfering ₦4bn from the missing funds to the office of the vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

Ude alleged in his report that Magu released the N4bn to Osinbajo, the day President Muhammadu Buhari left for his last medical trip in the United Kingdom.

Asides from the missing funds, Magu also allegedly confessed to a host of other infractions as acting chairman of the EFCC which include;

 “Selling recovered properties, vehicles, houses. Specifically 167 recovered trucks missing from its Portharcourt office, could not account for 27 recovered properties sold this year. Admitted flagrantly defying Act setting the EFCC up which stipulates he reports to the supervisory ministry.

“Ignoring requests of assistance to investigate and recover about 67b by sister agencies including the office of the IG and the presidency. Confessed Movement of important records/files from EFCC HQT between 12 midnight and 4 am Tuesday by his boys.

“Could not account for missing 37b as indicated in the submitted report of the presidential asset recovery panel headed by the chairman of the FIRS.”

The photos of the bad state of the house was posted online by an Instagram blogger, calling Nigerians to help the actor and his family.

Recall that, last year Samuel Ajirebi disclosed that it has been 10 years of consistent damages to properties in their environment, making life difficult for the residence.

He noted that the flooded house was a result of a canal behind their street, which overflows whenever the intensity of rain is high.

He added that several appeals have been made to the authorities but none have yielded positive response

However, the Instagram blogger called on philanthropists and good samaritans to help the actor, his family and the community.

The Assemblies of Light Bearer Greater Church of Lucifer popularly known as Church of Satan in Ohafia, Abia State has been destroyed by youths of the community. 

It was alleged that the founder of the church identified as Ifekwe Udo a.k.a Lucifer or Fada-Fada became popular in the past quarter of the decade, for his visible effort in providing employment opportunities for the jobless youths of the community. 

He gave the jobless youth motorcycles on hire purchase and also opened up a brothel in the community. Ifenkwe was reportedly arrested for ”violating the lockdown order, child trafficking and terrorizing the community.”

Recall in another report that officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Kaduna state command, on Tuesday, July 7, arraigned a clergyman, Reverend Joseph Ma’aji, before a Chief Magistrate court in the state for allegedly raping his 16-year-old housemaid.

NSCDC legal officer prosecuting the case, Yayayi Jauro, told the court that the state social welfare office in Kakuri, Kaduna, on July 1, received a report of alleged s€xual harassment and act of gross indecency against the Reverend.

On Monday, The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Olukayode Popoola, announced that the Federal Government is set to close down the Third Mainland Bridge for six months starting from Friday, July 24.

Mr. Popoola revealed that the closure comes as consultations are ongoing for another phase of repair works to begin on the 11.8km bridge. Adding that the work will commence on the outward mainland section of the bridge.

He further revealed that there have been reports of some worn-out expansion joints on the structure, raising concerns over the state of the bridge.

The bridge has gone through a series of repair works and was last shut in August 2018 for a three-day investigative maintenance check.

This development will force motorists in Lagos who ply the bridge to begin making arrangements for alternative routes.

Popoola added that the ministry is working with relevant agencies to perfect traffic during the period.

The group, under the aegis of Concerned Citizens Forum (CCF), seen in their numbers held placards calling for the arrest of Atiku, Melaye and other PDP members linked to the fraudster.

Some inscriptions from the placards read: “Say No to fraud, Interpol act now”, Interpol act and arrest Dino Melaye”, “Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are”, “FBI should investigate Atiku Abubakar,” amongst others.

They also submitted a letter to the US Ambassador and the Federal Bureau of Investigation calling for a thorough probe of Hushpuppi’s political allies in the PDP.

This is coming after the All Progressives Congress (APC) had alleged “criminal conspiracy linking the top PDP members to Hushpuppi.

The protesters submitted a letter signed by Comrade Adamu Kabir Matazu.

In the letter, Matazu called on the US to investigate the connection between PDP high profile Chieftains and Hushpuppi.

The group claimed that ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar’s frequent trips to Dubai prior to 2019 presidential elections may not be unconnected to Hushpuppi.

They asked the US to go after Atiku, Dino Melaye, Timi Frank and other PDP stalwarts who through their associations with Hushpuppi may have helped to launder the proceeds of crime.

Recall that Bukola Saraki and Atiku over the weekend had denied any connection to Hushpuppi.

Atiku described the allegations as mischievous and an attempt at political blackmail by the APC, adding that the picture with Hushpuppi was not a meeting.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has said denied reports in the media that its agents arrested Ibrahim Magu, the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The Service’s Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, said this in a statement on Monday.

The statement titled; “OFFICIAL: Dagu is Not Arrested by DSS” stated,

“The Department of State Services (DSS) wishes to inform the public that it did not arrest Ibrahim MAGU, Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as has been reported by sections of the media. 

“The Service, has since, today, 6th July, 2020, been inundated with enquiries over the alleged arrest.”

A group under the aegis of Good News Nigeria has urged Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to contest for president in 2023.

The group in a statement on Friday, July 3, said a joint ticket of Yemi Osinbajo and Borno governor, Babagana Zulum as president and Vice President respectively in 2023 would lead to national development, Leadership reported.

According to the group’s national coordinator, Dauda Mbaya, Nigeria would emerge as the next developed country in the world if it elects a credible leader in 2023.

Meanwhile, Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has distanced himself from the circulation of his posters and flyers for the 2023 presidential race.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has distanced himself from Hushpuppi after the ruling All Progressives Congress APC called for an investigation into his alleged links with the suspected fraudster.

APC in a statement released by its National Publicity Secretary Yekini Nabena, called on the relevant security agencies to investigate the links Hushpuppi had with some PDP stalwarts like Bukola Saraki, Dino Melaye, and Yakubu Dogara.

Reacting to the statement by APC, Paul Ibe, media aide to the former Vice President, said the photo of Atiku and Hushpuppi making the rounds was a mere photo-op and not at any meeting as is being speculated.

”It is curious that the All Progressives Congress is mischievously trying to link Atiku Abubakar to the alleged fraudster, Ramon Abbas, AKA Hushpuppi, simply because he was photographed with Atiku at an event where many Nigerians had gathered.

For the avoidance of doubt, it was a mere photo-op and not at any meeting as being ingloriously speculated. We would advise the APC and Mr. Nabena to be very mindful of such senseless statements in the future especially as the case under reference is a subject of litigation in another country.

Had they been more sensitive, they would have come to terms with the reality that the case is a national embarrassment – not something to cheer about for any political blackmail.”
