The European and relegation battles in the Premier League will reach a conclusion on Sunday. All 20 clubs are in action as the season draws to a close but eyes will be firmly fixed on a few key games.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Leicester are all involved in the hunt for Champions League football.
At the other end of the table, Aston Villa, Watford and Bournemouth all attempt to avoid the same fate as Norwich.
The Premier League predictions below have been provided by the Betfair Exchange.
The figures shown are based on how fans have been betting on the relative markets.
Betfair spokesperson Darren Hughes said: “The race for the top 4 looks like going right down to the wire, as any two of Chelsea, Manchester United, and Leicester could secure those coveted Champions League spots.
“Chelsea would appear to have the most straightforward task, as a solitary point at home to Wolves would see them guaranteed 4th spot, a game where they have a combined 77% chance of a victory or draw, and they have an 84% chance of finishing in the top 4 according to Betfair Exchange.
“The battle between Man United and Leicester is similarly straightforward – Leicester need to win to ensure Champions League football next season, while a draw is good enough for United, who can also afford to lose the game should Chelsea lose to Wolves.
“United have a combined 70% chance of a win or draw against Leicester, and therefore have a 70% chance of finishing in the top 4 this season, while Leicester are up against it with a 36% chance, according to Betfair Exchange.”
Hughes added: “While Norwich City are the only team confirmed to be heading back to the Championship ahead of the final weekend of Premier League action, any two of Bournemouth, Watford, and Aston Villa could theoretically follow them.
“Bournemouth need something of a miracle- only a win against Everton will do, which Betfair Exchange gives them a 25% chance of earning, and they must hope that both Villa and Watford are beaten also.
“As such, Betfair Exchange suggests they have a 95% chance of relegation.
“The final relegation spot is more interesting. Having looked all but gone, Aston Villa pulled a rabbit out of the hat midweek by turning over Arsenal at home in Villa Park, but will be hoping the Gunners can bounce back against their neighbours Watford to secure safety for Villa.
“Villa themselves have West Ham away, a game which Betfair Exchange gives them a 42% chance of winning, and securing the 3 points they need to secure safety.
“Villa have only a 32% chance of going down, compared to 80% before beating Arsenal.”
Lagosians, especially those who work on the island, would wake to a new reality on Saturday as the Federal Government made good its promise to close the Third Mainland bridge at midnight Friday.
At exactly 12 midnight, engineers and workmen moved in to barricade the 11.8 kilometer bridge, the second longest in Africa, from Adeniji Adele inbound Lagos Island.
The bridge would be partially closed for six months to allow for the much needed maintenance work after the facility failed the integrity test.
The maintenance effort was triggered by public outcry about the health of the facility with evidently worn-out joints and gaping gaps that scared daylight out of motorists and commuters.
Although experts deem the exercise absolutely necessary to save lives, many Lagosians are apprehensive of the possible pains it would cause them.
Granting the slipshod management of traffic in Lagos, and lawlessness of motorists, most people who work or do business in Lagos Island see the coming six months as hell.
However, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured that a lot has been done to ease the pains of Lagosians during the six months the exercise would last.
He gave the assurance at the Lagos House, Marina, Thursday, when the new Lagos State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mr. Olusegun Ogungbemide, paid him a courtesy visit. The FRSC chief was accompanied by the Lagos Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Mr. Adeyinka Ayinla.
Although Sanwo-Olu acknowledged that the exercise would bring pains to Lagosians, his administration had mapped out alternative routes and enhanced traffic management strategies that would give the people a seamless motoring experience.
Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, Sanwo-Olu added, would constantly be on the road, alongside their Federal counterparts, to ensure sanity and order on the road during the period.
”The partial closure of Third Mainland Bridge is not something that everybody should worry about, because this is an exercise that had been done before,” the governor said.
”For emphasis, the traffic disruption is only about 25 per cent of the regular traffic on the bridge.
”The 75 per cent of vehicles that normally ply the route will still have access to move on the bridge during the period of repair.
”We have furnished and improved the design of the alternative routes, and we are still working on other arterial routes so that our people can have seamless journey times to and from their places of work.
”So, there is nothing commuters should worry about in this period. We will ensure the repair work on Third Mainland Bridge does not overburden them. We will be deploying over 650 LASTMA officers on the road to control the traffic.”

Liverpool and Chelsea played out a thrilling and goal-filled game with the game ending 5-3 in favour of the hosts and newly crowned Premier league champions.
Jurgen Klopp’s side came into the game having only won just three of their seven outings since the restart, including a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal last time out, but wrapped up the title in record time and knew whatever transpired in the game they would be lifting the Premier league trophy at the end of the night.
As it happened though, they didn’t let the inevitable celebration spoil their mood, instead they let it spur them as they bombarded the Chelsea defense with impressive midfield play from frequently criticized Naby Keita, one of those plays leading to a scorching goal from the Guinean. Stealing the ball from Chelsea’s Willian and without hesitation letting it fly and putting the Champions on the way.
Liverpool didn’t let up though as homegrown fullback and infamous set piece specialist Trent Alexander Arnold registered another free kick beauty to be added to his growing gallery making the scores 2-0 in favour of the hosts. Gino Wignaldum quickly made the scores 3-0 by slotting in through a loose ball from a corner kick effectively taking the game from the visiting Londoners.
Chelsea’s French international striker Olivier Giroud tapped in one back at the stroke of halftime for his side though to make the scores 3-1. The urgency and entertainment wasn’t lost as the second half kicked off, on the contrary it continued in the same vein as Liverpool increased their lead, this time through striker Roberto Firmino converting a header from an inviting Trent Alexander Arnold’s cross taking the scoreline to 4-1 in favour of the hosts and champions.
Chelsea pulled one back again through a mazy run from substitute Christian Pulisic who played a perfectly weighted pass to another substitute Tammy Abraham which was easily converted taking the scores of the entertaining encounter to 4-2. Chelsea turned the game on its head one more time as a clearly inspired Pulisic drew one back for Chelsea by combining well with another substitute Hudson Odoi taking the scores to 4-3.
Liverpool were not to be denied though as they put the final nail in the coffin of the game through a textbook counter attack by left back Andy Robertson teeing up substitute Alex Oxlade Chamberlain for a tap-in, effectively ending the game as a contest and kickstarting the party for the title-winning Merseysiders.
When asked to explain what the money was paid for and if it was budgeted for, Pondei said
”The money was paid to Clear Point Communications for a variety of purposes all related to the Forensic audit. There are 185 local government areas and each of them was budgetted for N3.46 million. One, allowances for coordinators per local government areas, training for the coordinators, setting up of information desks for the coordinators. These coordinators are the people to identify the sites of all the projects in the NDDC area.”
When asked if what he meant was that he contracted Clear Point to help identify the projects in NDDC areas, Pondei said
They will get local people in the local government areas to identify these sites where NDDC projects are because when they go for inspections, people are not able to locate these projects and so we needed local people who would guide” He said those who were employed would also be trained as ”Pointers for Projects”.
”Clear Point has been a consultant in the NDDC before I even came in. They are putting help desk, communication desks in all the places to locate the projects” he said
He however could not account for N536 million paid to a company to run a campaign tagged “Save Life campaign”. Pondei appeared shocked as he could not even recall he approved the project.
