You may have stumbled on this believing the secret code to improving a guy’s confidence would be something related to a drop dead gorgeous woman. But the answer is far more simpler than that.
There are men who get their confidence bruised when a woman succeeds at their expense but those kind of men need a different topic and time. Getting your ego bruised because of the success of a woman means you need to check how and where that ego was manufactured. From the onset your esteem was probably low, so this may be a topic for you after all.
Generally, men need a little confidence boost every now and then. Everyone does, but there’s nothing more attractive than a moderately confident man. Having too much confidence can just make you near-narcissist. You would find it very difficult to accept corrections or failure as this would severely demolish your confidence build.
The aim here is to get that secret code and run right? But it’s not that easy. There are many factors that come to play where confidence is concerned. These are; self-image, self-worth and self-esteem.
In order to have self-confidence, you need a positive self-image; and in order to have that, you need to know your self-worth; and to know your self-worth, you need a high self-esteem. They are all intertwined one way or the other.
Your self-image is the mental picture we all have about ourselves. First, there’s the ‘real’ image, and then there’s the ‘ideal’ image. The real image might be a nervous wreck who is reading this just because of that fact. Then the ideal image is that confident, hunky, successful, and cool version you have of yourself.
It’s fantastic to have goals for the kind of person you want to be. But self-image isn’t completely accurate. If you grew up being told the definition of a successful man or woman. You paint that picture in your head over time. Even if you are doing an amazing job now, and are the envy of many, you would never see yourself as Ideal. This is because you believe you do not fit into that ideal image. So, let’s work on that self-worth.
You need to appreciate and value yourself. Don’t see yourself as mediocre but as just right. There is no one like you. Now, while this is quickly turning into some kind of motivational speech, don’t lose sight of what’s real. That is, you need to stand before a mirror and speak to yourself.
– What do you like about yourself?
– What have you done successfully so far?
– What’s achievement to you?
– What are the bad things you have overcome?
Ask yourself questions and smile while doing it. If you believe your self esteem isn’t peachy, that’s fine, we’re getting there. Self esteem is a funny business. It gets up sometimes and down the next. It’s crazy but some suffer this far more than others. While some are on a constant low, others struggle between the high and low. But the lucky ones, are often on the high.
Brain scan studies demonstrate that when your self-esteem is higher, you are likely to experience common emotional problems such as rejection and failure as less painful. It would also be easier to bounce back quickly. While having a low self esteem can cause you to be more vulnerable to anxiety. This anxiety causes more cortisol to be released into your bloodstream when under stress. And the longer you stay stressed, the longer it lingers.
Therefore, the goal is to know your self worth to boost your self esteem. This would then encourage you to have a positive self-image. It’s true! You can change your self-image.
Remember, the goal is to boost that confidence, which at the end of the day, you can quite easily!
Follow these Note to Self and you can get that Boost your Need!
– Have a Positive Self Image.
– Change your attitude/behavior towards life.
– Create attainable goals.
– Break said goals into achievable bits.
– Speak positive affirmative words to yourself every now and then.
– Congratulate yourself for little achievements.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, has said the state is considering different options in its bid to reopen schools.
Speaking at the annual ministerial press briefing of the state Ministry of Education on Tuesday, Adefisayo said although the Federal Government would decide when schools would open, the state was putting measures in place to protect pupils.
She said, “Recall that the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on Monday said schools remain closed. I can’t give you a date when schools will resume in Lagos, but we are working with development partners and ministries of education across the country to come up with a series of protocols on how we will be able to manage when we open schools. So, we are working behind the scene; we have a paper on the protocols and we will start to share as the paper is finally approved in a few days’ time.
“There must be protocols that will address schools with large gatherings. There are many things we are thinking of; we are thinking about pupils not coming to school every day so that we will be able to spread the children across the whole school. Pupils don’t have to be in their class to learn; they can learn in a room with tables and chairs.”
Adefisayo added that a total of 3,000 primary and secondary school teachers were recently absorbed into the teaching workforce to boost the capacity of the existing workforce and provide quality education.
The DMW boss has been spotted walking with crutches after he suffered some minor injuries. His lawyer identified as Bobo F Ajudua posted on his social media page wishing the superstar a speedy recovery. He shared photos of Davido in crutches.
He wrote “How some people chose to enter June. Nawa. At some point yesterday we were literally thanking God there are no shows right now. Get well soon bro @davidoofficial “.
For some, the word ‘No’ is learned in order to suppress the habitual need to say yes at the drop of a hat. This can only be problematic in situations where ‘No’ is a necessity.
There are people who undeniably can’t say the ever-so-easy negative word. These two letter-word are as powerful as in the situations they are said. In a situation where the opposite sex is concerned, it can be quite tricky to determine what a girl means.
Some (Guys) say, she really means yes, while others (Girls) say she really means no. One common factor in both circumstances is that she actually ‘says’ something. It’s quite easy to discern what is meant when you consider the body language as well.
The simple answer to what a girl means when she says ‘no’ can be solved through her body language. You don’t hear her say no and see her body language is on the same page and yet, you insist she means yes. Are you on a codeine diet? Anyone who claims a girl means yes in spite her body language and facial expression, saying the same thing is just being intentionally blinded.
However, guys who say a girl means yes when she says no, need to be careful. If she isn’t blushing, touching you and fluttering her eyes while saying ‘No’, then please she means No. No means No!
Truth is, to be on the safe side, it’s better to accept the reality of the 21st century. A girl means what she says. Girls these days know what they want. They are assertive, and the problem men face these days is on how to zip their lips. Needless to say, it doesn’t hurt to be positively assertive where decision making is concerned.
While the prior mentioned instance is physical, you may wonder, “How do you know what she means when you can’t see her body language.”
Recently, conversations are held on the mobile device or on social media. If you’re having a conversation with a girl and she says No, it doesn’t take an expert to denote from her tone if she means it. A girl can either be stern or flirty. If she stays in between the lines because you ‘believe she’s leading you on’, MOVE ON! Don’t think twice about a girl’s no especially when you’re not in a relationship.
Being in a relationship gives you an upper hand of understanding her. Sometimes, she may be upset about something and it might be a wrong time, wrong place situation. You can manage the situation wisely.
So, if this isn’t the case, move on. Just move on. If her tone isn’t flirty like “No jor. Stop it Jor (Chuckle Chuckle)” then move on. Never forget how complicated girls can be.
Finally, if she’s on social media and she tells you she’s not interested, what else are you waiting for? Don’t be pushy and keep pressuring her to a point when it becomes a game of stalking or desperation.
In summary, after all the stories that touch, remember one thing: The reality today is a girl knows what she wants, and she doesn’t find it difficult to share her thoughts. Even if she’s shy, she would let you know through her body language.
The situation in which a word is said is very vital. Therefore, consider the circumstance, the body language, the tone and finally, the relationship.
In simple terms, NO IS NO! That should be your default comprehension on the word she says or writes.
Have you ever been in a No situation before? Share your experience while you share this BUZZ.
The Lagos State Government on Tuesday said that churches and mosques in the state might not be reopened soon for worshipers.
The Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, said this on the sideline of the 2020 Ministerial Press Briefing commemorating the first year in office of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The Federal Government had on Monday, June 1, lifted the ban on mosques and churches in the country, based on guidelines and protocols agreed with state governments.
Elegushi said that the reopening of the worship centers was not possible soon, as the state was the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Even before the pronouncement by Federal Government, we have been having meetings with the religious leaders, we even had one with Safety Commission, looking at the possibility of reopening of religious houses.
“We also had one with the leaders of the two faiths and I want to tell you categorically that at that meeting, possibility of reopening religious houses was ruled out totally.
“They claimed that they cannot take such responsibility of ensuring that only 20 or 50 people are praying behind them.
“Like an Imam said, he doesn’t know what is going on at the back immediately he is leading a prayer. He said if more than 20 or 50 people are staying at his back he is not going to take responsibility for their presence.
“So, in the meeting, we ruled out in totality the issue of reopening the religious houses until we have a clear coast for us to do so.
“The Federal Government mentioned it, but it never ruled out the state in achieving that pronouncement, so all states will have to look at possibility of doing so in their respective states.
“We all know Lagos is still having more figures. So definitely that will speak to our decision,” he said. The commissioner, however, said that the governor of the state would come out with further directives on the matter.

The Nigerian Government has postponed WAEC and NECO examinations indefinitely over Covid-19 outbreak in the country.
Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Minister of State for Education, also at a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja recalled that the Ministry of Education had in March shut tertiary institutions, secondary and primary schools in the country as precautionary measures to curtail the spread of COVID-19.
The Minister while noting that rendering educational services to the masses is in the concurrent list said the Federal Government will communicate a new resumption date to all stakeholders.
“As you are aware, we have announced that WAEC and NECO for the year have been postponed. This postponement at the moment is indefinite.
“As soon as we arrive at a definite time, we will recommunicate that. We will also be looking at what we will do in order for schools to reopen. As you will recall, we asked that schools vacate in the late part of March as soon as this broke.
“Now it will be a coordinated effort among all the states because the lockdown in various parts will definitely affect how students go to school or not or how teachers come to school or not. So it goes with that saying that nobody can reopen schools now except we coordinate all of that effort,” he said.
Speaking further, he solicited the cooperation of parents regarding efforts put in place to render online services to students staying at home during the lockdown period.
According to him, the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, had directed the Ministry through the Directorate of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to enable students learn online.
Nwajiuba explained that his Ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Information plans transmitting educational contents to Nigerians.
He said that currently, about 14 or 15 states in the country including Lagos and Anambra run some educational contents to carry students along.
“Right now, what has happened is that that 14 or 15 states have already commenced learning via different channels that are available in their states, mostly radio and local TV.
“What they are running is an approved NERDC curriculum. That is ongoing at the moment, not all the states have started the programme but mostly Anambra, Lagos, a few states about 14 of them.
“We are also working with the Ministry of Information through NTA and the Federal Radio Corporation to then escalate what they have as their education content so that they can provide for everybody. They are still working on that, it is ongoing,” he stated.
