Let’s put it out there, plain and simple – sometimes people fall out of love in relationships, so it’s fair to need assurance that your partner is in love with you. This ship of uncertainty has been sailed long enough, so we need you to know the signs once and for all.
In retrospect, you shouldn’t even need assurance. You should be able to tell that you are loved. Your partner should be able to express himself to you in ways that are unspoken.
But, if we’re being realistic, some people don’t know how to read between the lines of love. All they hear are the “I love you(s)”, but don’t know the signs to look out for. That’s all right, because we’ve got you. To make your life and relationship easy, you can check out these simple and cute love signals.
The scariest thing in the world (no exaggeration intended) is being in love and not sure you are loved in return. That’s scary! So, here are the signs that let you know you are.
1.They trust you
Trust issues can be a daunting factor in bridging a wall between two potential lovebirds. First of all, let’s address your role in this. If you can’t seem to let your walls down because you’re scared to let your partner get too close for comfort then the problem begins there. Sure, it’s scary because you don’t want to get your heart broken just in case the love isn’t reciprocated, but that’s why you’re reading this. Now, let’s sort that partner of yours. Does your partner let you in? Do they share their problems, joys, secret desires? Or do they constantly hide their phones and play dumb when you ask certain questions. If your partner does share with you and trust you then that’s a good sign, he loves you. Trust plays a huge role in love.
2.Sharing their food
This is no trivial matter. Food sharing is very intimate and important. Some people hate sharing their food or even being spoon fed in public. But if they are willing to do this for you then it’s a good sign they are willing to compromise because they love you.
3.They know and care about your love language
It’s one thing to show you love someone, and another to do so the right way. Everyone has a love language and if your partner knows yours and does things in your love format, then it’s amazing. For instance, if you love physical touch and gifts, and your partner touches and buys you gifts, that’s a good sign. It takes someone who doesn’t truly love you not to care about these things. But if they are trying but not the way you want (love language), you can educate them on what works.
4.Respects you
Does your partner seek your input in making decisions? When someone really loves you, they respect your ideas and opinions, even when they don’t agree with it. They also pay attention to the little details like what you love and hate. When important decisions in their lives needs to be made, they ask you what you think about it. Finally, they respect ‘you’ as a human, not just because you’re in a relationship. They don’t speak to you like you don’t matter or hit you. They care about your life too. If your partner doesn’t do any of these, then you may need to walk away. They probably don’t love you.
5.They trust you with their phones
This may seem absurd but these days people’s jobs, social life, private life, and everything about them are on their phones. If your partner guards his phone like a hawk then your need to start asking questions. If your partner has a password he refuses to share then they are hiding secrets. Relationships are built on trust and this is a big trust-breaker.
6.They think about you even in your absence
According to Astroglide’s resident sexologist, Dr. Jess O’Reilly, “Research suggests that when you think of someone you love, it can reduce stress, elevate your mood and even assuage pain, so the fact that they’re thinking of you may be an indication that they take comfort in your love.”
7.Shameless display of affection
There’s nothing more loving than a show of affection and this is not a sex talk. We’re talking about pecks on everywhere but the lips, cuddling, arms around you, staring into each other’s eyes. Asking yourself the silliest question, cracking dry jokes if you’re really bad at telling jokes. There’s also little details like touching the small part of your back or holding your hands. Someone who truly loves you would want to do these things with you. Remember, this isn’t even about sex. They just want to feel close, intimate and connected with you any way they can.
8.They are proud of being with you
This can be very uplifting. Although, don’t expect to go public if you’ve only started dating a while. It’s okay to want to test the waters to know if this is a good thing you’ve got going. But if you’ve been at it for a while, then you’re allowed to expect your partner to be proud about your couple-dom. You should be able to go out in public. You shouldn’t be begging to meet your partner’s friends.
Finally, there are many ways of showing you love someone, same way they are many ways to receive love. Sometimes, the problem could be deep-seated like, comparing your present relationship with an old one. So, what you may really need to do is to know the underlining source of your frustration. What exactly makes you question your partner’s love?

ReveredOba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, has explained his rejection of godfatherism and consensus candidate in the politics of Edo state, describing them as twin evils.
The monarch in a statement late on Thursday, said these two ‘political vices’ are antithetical to the fundamental basis of democracy. The traditional ruler denied reports suggesting that his palace prevailed on some aspirants to step down “for a particular candidate in the upcoming primaries of a certain political party. The palace totally denounces this evil speculation and condemns those that originated it.”
“His Royal Majesty, Omo N‘Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpoiokpolo, the Oba of Benin has said times without number that the Palace of the Oba of Benin does not get involved in partisan politics. The three prayer points of the Oba of Benin in the democratic process have always been as follows; that God and our ancestors should give us a governor that will accord respect to traditional institutions, develop this state and provide food on the table for the masses.
“The Omo N’Oba strongly advises that in order to eschew recurrent socio political conflict that seems to constantly ravish the state, making Edo people a laughing stock to the rest of the country in how politicians manage the affairs of Edo people, our Edo political actors must eradicate the twin evil political vices of godfatherism and consensus candidate.
“These two practices seem antithetical to the very fundamental basis of democracy. In other words this business of coercing aspirants to step down for another candidate for whatsoever reason is undemocratic It will not augur well for the development of democratic process in Nigeria”, the statement read in part. The Oba said the palace is very weary of the imposition of candidates whom only certain individuals want, not the majority. “Ghana Must Go politics should end in the State. Politicians should stop cashing in on the poor masses and exploiting them for their votes,” he said.
